Coming from a Linux Environment, one of the first things I tried to do on my new macbook pro is playing my ogg files, I googled for it and find this codec that gives support to quicktime: http://www.xiph.org/quicktime As iTunes makes use of quicktime plugins/codecs it was perfect, only problem is that I have not installed quicktime and I’m really not interested on installing it, the readme file of the codecs suggested to install it on ~/Library/Components as I didn’t have it, I just created the folder and copy the file called XiphQT (decoders).component while iTunes was not running and that was all I needed to be playing my ogg files.
